J.C. (Jaap) Kotteman, D. (Daan) Swildens and R.S. (Robin) Bosch (from left to right) all obtained a Master's degree focused on Corporate Law. During their studies, they gained extensive experience at various law firms. Additionally, they broadened their academic scope at Leiden University and the University of Amsterdam.
They founded L.A.W. because they observed that the potential of young talent is often underutilized. At L.A.W., the new generation of top lawyers is deployed to independently handle civil law cases. Both advising and litigating are part of their daily work. The benefit for the client? Our legal talents are driven to deliver top performances.
Management
Gerard Wentink L.L.M.
G.H.B. (Gerard) Wentink L.L.M., former tax adviser at Loyens & Loeff and Director of Business Development at Baker McKenzie, will join LAW as partner on 1 May 2025. With his extensive experience in the legal sector, he will contribute to the growth of LAW, a dynamic young firm focused on the development of emerging legal talent. At LAW, the next generation of top lawyers is given the opportunity to independently handle civil law cases from start to finish, under the supervision of seasoned professionals. In doing so, they receive intensive training in the key skills every good lawyer should possess. LAW offers this training programme not only to its own employees, but also to already sworn-in trainee lawyers on a secondment basis.
Jaap Kotteman L.L.M. (Founder)
J.C. (Jaap) Kotteman L.L.M. obtained his Bachelor's degree in Law from Leiden University, where he also completed his Master's degree in Corporate Law. During his studies, he spent a semester at the University of Naples. Jaap is known for his decisive approach, ensuring that he achieves the best outcomes for his clients.
Jaap provides advice and handles legal proceedings, focusing particularly on civil law and IP-law.
Daan Swildens LL.M. (Founder)
D. (Daan) Swildens L.L.M. obtained his Bachelor's degree in Law (with honors) from the University of Amsterdam, where he also completed his Master's degree in Commercial Legal Practice (with distinction). During his studies, he spent a semester at the University of Bologna. Daan is decisive and with his creativity, he knows how to achieve the best outcome for his clients.
Daan provides advice and handles legal proceedings, focusing particularly on civil law and corporate law. Additionally, Daan is affiliated as a lecturer in Corporate Law at the University of Amsterdam.
Robin Bosch L.L.M. (Founder)
R.S. (Robin) Bosch L.L.M. obtained his Bachelor's degree in Law from Leiden University, where he also completed his Master's degree in Corporate Law (with distinction). During his studies, he spent a semester at the University of Naples. Robin is known for his dedicated approach, fully immersing himself in a case to provide optimal service to his clients.
Robin provides advice and handles legal proceedings, focusing particularly on civil law and corporate law.

S.H.F. (Sijmen) Kerckhoffs, LL.M.
Legal professional S.H.F. (Sijmen) Kerckhoffs, LL.M., completed his Bachelor of Laws at Leiden University. In addition to a Master’s in Corporate Law, Sijmen Kerckhoffs holds a Master’s in Tax Law, both from Leiden University. Sijmen started at L.A.W. as a Young Legal professional and has since progressed to the role of Manager.
T.B. (Thomas) Peters L.L.M.
T.B. (Thomas) Peters, LL.M., obtained his Bachelor of Laws at Leiden University, where he also earned his Master’s degree in Corporate Law. After joining as a Young Legal professional in March 2024, Thomas has been serving as a Senior Associate since April 1, 2025. Thomas primarily advises on matters within civil law and corporate law.
M.E. (Mare) Willems, LL.M.
Ms M.E. (Mare) Willems obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Law at Tilburg University. She is currently completing her Master’s in Contract and Liability Law, also at Tilburg University. During her studies, Mare gained practical experience as an Intern and Student Assistant at AKD.
J.H.M.E. (Maud) van der Zee
Legal Counsel J.H.M.E. (Maud) van der Zee obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Law at Leiden University and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Civil Law, also at Leiden University. Maud has gained experience as a legal assistant at Delissen Martens and as a legal service provider at the Children & Youth Legal Helpdesk.
F. Oldegbers, LL.M.
Mr F. (Felix) Oldegbers obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Law, with a specialization in International and European Law, at the University of Groningen. Felix provides advice in civil matters and has a particular interest in issues related to (professional) liability law. In addition, he completed his Master’s in Civil Law at Leiden University.
L.H.H. (Lars) van Veen
L.H.H. (Lars) van Veen is currently studying Law at Leiden University, specializing in Dutch Law. Alongside his studies, Lars gained experience at the Leiden Legal Aid Clinic (Rechtswinkel Leiden), where he developed a hands-on mentality. He specializes in civil law.
Y. (Yara) Hamaker, LL.M.
Ms Y. (Yara) Hamaker obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Law at Leiden University, after which she completed her Master’s in European Intellectual Property Law at Stockholm University. Yara has gained practical experience at several law firms
W.T. (Wibe) Kaak
W.T. (Wibe) Kaak is currently studying Law at the University of Groningen, specializing in Dutch Law. Alongside his studies, Wibe has gained extensive experience in various commercial roles at organizations such as Red Bull Netherlands, which contributes to a practical and results-oriented approach in legal services. He specializes in contract law and liability law.
F. (Floor) Hoogsteen
F. (Floor) Hoogsteen completed her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Groningen and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Private Law Legal Practice at the University of Amsterdam. Floor previously gained legal experience at the Groningen Legal Aid Clinic (Rechtswinkel Groningen).
F.Th.E (Fleur) Rietbergen
Legal Counsel F.Th.E. (Fleur) Rietbergen obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Law at Leiden University, after which she completed an extracurricular minor in Psychology. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Civil Law, also at Leiden University. During her studies, she gained practical experience at, among others, Rutgers & Posch and Stibbe.
N.J. (Niels) Janssens, LL.M.
N.J. (Niels) Janssens, LL.M., studied Law at the University of Amsterdam, where he also completed a Master’s in Private Law Legal Practice. During his studies, Niels gained relevant practical experience at various law firms, specializing particularly in liability law and financing transactions.
M.J. (Merel) Goud, LL.M.
M.J. (Merel) Goud, LL.M., obtained her Bachelor of Laws at Leiden University, specializing in Entrepreneurship & Management. Subsequently, Merel earned a Master’s degree in Internet, Intellectual Property, and ICT at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. During her studies, Merel gained relevant legal experience at various law firms.
E. (Emma) Kalender, LL.M.
Ms E. (Emma) Kalender obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Law at the University of Groningen, where she also completed Master’s degrees in Criminal Law and Private Law. Emma has gained practical experience at, among others, Pels Rijcken and Kennedy Van der Laan.
M.H. (Maartje) Goedings, LL.M.
M.H. (Maartje) Goedings, LL.M., obtained her Bachelor of Laws at Utrecht University, where she also completed a Master’s in Employment Law. During her studies, she earned a certificate for the Max Rood Moot Court competition. After completing her Master’s degree, she gained practical experience as an intern at Van Diepen Van der Kroef and Pallas Advocaten.
C. (Cis) van Hout
Legal professional C. (Cis) van Hout combines a strong foundation in private law with a Master’s in Intellectual Property Law, Innovation and Technology. With a previous Bachelor’s degree in Political Science under his belt, Cis bridges the gap between legal frameworks and the innovative practices of tomorrow.
E. (Emma) Snel, LL.M.
Legal professional E.A.A. (Emma) Snel, LL.M., completed her Bachelor of Laws at Leiden University cum laude. She subsequently completed a Master’s in Conflict Management, Judicial Protection and Mediation, during which she focused on employment law. Emma gained experience at firms including Kennedy Van der Laan and A&O. In October 2025, Emma joined L.A.W. as a Young Legal professional and has since progressed to the role of Senior Associate. She primarily focuses on employment law and contract law.
L.R. (Luna) van der Voort, LL.M.
L.R. (Luna) van der Voort, LL.M., obtained her Bachelor of Laws at Utrecht University, after which she earned her Master’s in Private Law Legal Practice at the University of Amsterdam. Luna gained experience at firms including CMS and Houthoff.
E. (Emma) van der Velde
E.R. (Emma) van der Velde completed her Bachelor's degree in Law at the University of Amsterdam, after which she began a Master's program in Private Law Practice. Emma has gained experience at, among others, Diageo and Kennedy Van der Laan.

Social involvement
Legal Advice Wanted also strives to contribute to society. For example, Legal Advice Wanted has assisted approximately 2,000 students in administrative law procedures against various municipalities regarding the Energy Allowance (2022). Currently, Legal Advice Wanted is representing “Stichting Beheer Studieschuld” (Foundation Student Debt Management) in a legal proceeding against DUO (the Dutch Student Financing Agency).
